First of them are cranes. In ordinary usage we have a few common types: overhead, mobile and fixed. First one is generally used inside storages. It could be remotely operated by employee with permission.
It is equipped in a beam on which hook-and-line device is moving. Second is mobile crane. By definition, it can change workplace so it is mainly using outside. Last one is called fixed. They are the highest and can lift the heaviest stock. It is exploit outside because of its amount. Second type of lifting equipment is gantry crane. Ordinaly used in harbours and railway terminal to loading and unloading shipments. First one was made of raw materials by Germans and placed in Danzig (nowadays it is polish city called Gdańsk) and it was built-it inside city fences. Now gantry cranes are ordinaly set with open space inside. Because of that they are called portal cranes.
Without this devices loading and stowing sizable tank ships can be truly time-consuming and expensive. Investing in modern science achievements shall be the primary element in budgets of logistics firms, storages and ports.
